Tulku Ösel Dorje (Costanzo Allione) spent four years in solitary retreat, completed numerous ngöndros, and completed a traditional 108-cemetery Chöd pilgrimage as a wandering yogi, meditating in sacred Himalayan caves. He was instructed by his root lamas A.dzom Paylo Rinpoche, Sang-ngag Rinpoche and his mother Lama Tsültrim Allione. He holds a master's degree in Buddhist Studies from Kathmandu University and is currently working on his doctoral dissertation.
